The video which inspired Navneet to not own a car ever.

First things first.

Why I don’t like cars: Because I simply have no use. The inspiration I got for not owning a car for my lifetime was from Dhruv Rathee’s video.

I understand that there is simply no use in owning a car. With the improvements that are being made in terms of public transport, I will never need a private vehicle.

He made me understand that most of the time a car sits idle in the garage and in parking lots, and almost all the jam problems in India could be solved if we didn’t use cars at all. The more roads the government builds, the more people are being inspired to buy a car for their ease, and it becomes a never-ending process.

I forgot many issues that he raised in his video, but when I watched it eight months earlier, I made up my mind about not owning a car ever.

Still, I would love to own an electric bike or scooter if I need one, and if my father or mother wants a car, I most probably won’t make them understand this.

If they are happy getting a car, I won’t stop them, as their happiness is foremost above almost everything. I still criticize my father’s decision to continue consuming meat to satisfy his taste buds.

Secondly, I am never going to have my own kids. I always thought of being a normal middle-class boy, studying hard, getting a job, marrying a girl, having babies, and then retiring and waiting for death.

It was only after class 11th that all the changes happened to me. I was inspired by Robin Singh after hearing his story of having kids. He said that he is never going to have kids of his own and will adopt kids if he feels the need in the future. I too support his thoughts and have decided the same.

Simply because there is no need for my baby to come into this world. I am very selfish in this case, as I want to enjoy my life.

I have no idea how my parents are going to react to this, but I am still going to fight against my parents if they don’t support me.

Let me be clear: I still want to get married to someone who shares the same values as I do and has similar expectations of me.

Thirdly, she is not owning any jewellery. So for this, there is no ethical or moral reason, and I am not inspired by someone. I am against showoffs, and I feel like wearing jewellery means showoffs.

As of now, I only have a piece of gold that I was given in a ceremony that took place more than a decade ago, and I have no plans to get more jewellery for myself.

Thanks

Spread the love
