Money is the root of all evil. Money is not everything; this is what I have heard all my life from my middle-class parents. I never got pocket money, and I got that envious feeling from the kids who got it. Very rarely, I used to get 5 rupees, and it was a treat for me. I also saw my classmates eating fast food after school or in the tiffin, and I had no money to afford that. Some shared with me also, and I used to feel shame because I couldn’t get something for them. After all, I had no money.
I was always ashamed of telling my friends and other people that my parents are teachers, as they were contract teachers and they got just enough to feed our stomachs. I sometimes told a lie that they were businessmen or would tell me about any other occupation.
Almost all of my friends were richer than my parents, and they owned all the luxurious items like washing machines, air conditioners, and refrigerators. We got a washing machine and a refrigerator just two years ago, and until now, we didn’t own an air conditioner. Before that, I had to lie to my friends to save my social status.
We also don’t have our own house; I have lived in a rented house all my life. In 2024, there is a possibility that our own house will be built.
I have said this a lot of times: I want to travel full-time, and the only thing that’s stopping me is money.
I want to end world hunger, and the only thing that’s stopping me is money.
I want to help more people, and the only thing that’s stopping me is money.
When I ran to Patna there, I knew how it felt to have no money. I was once on a train and I was out of money seeing hawkers selling edible items that I wanted to buy but had no money,to be honest, it feels very bad when you get cravings for something but can’t afford it.
Being someone from a middle-class family, I had to save in every instance that is possible, may it be right or wrong. I generally skip purchasing tickets and try my hardest to negotiate with hawkers, vendors, and other people just to get them for a ₹ less.
Money can’t solve all your problems, but money can solve all your money problems.

The conclusion one can get from this blog is that money is not a luxury; it’s a necessity, and it’s going to help you in every aspect of your life. Don’t get into the middle-class cycle where talking about money is taboo and seen as a sign of greed. The only people who compare money with greed are poor and middle-class people. It is sad to say that my parents are also one of them. This is the same reason why I have decided not to take any money, finance, or investing advice from them.
