I have a 326 day streak on Duolingo and ask me to speak 3 lines of Mandarin and I can’t do it. I am going to be brutally honest I can’t speak Mandarin and I accept it. I just have used duolingo to not lose my streak. It’s like my baby i have been pampering for 326 days as of 07th September 2024. I know I can start what am I doing on the 01st January of 2025 but this time i will be there having 80+ days experienced.
You will see from tomorrow from which level am I going to start learning how to speak it. It will also serve as an inspiration for anyone who is looking to learn a foreign language. I am sure I am going to embarass myself by facing myself on the camera but yeah i know how i learnt English so, yeah i gotta drink shame in breakfast. I know with things I have already done that I am somewhat consistent with what I do so, that’s not a big deal to upload a video daily still it will not be mandatory to upload a video daily. I give myself permission to skip days but yeah I will do it regularly. Even one sentence in Mandarin counts. Even a 10-second video counts. Even a “Hi” in Mandarin counts. I have made it soo easy to stick with it. I will run this challenge to the day i start speaking enough Mandarin to correct myself and understand other speakers decently. I don’t want to learn how to write or even read in Chinese but I want to learn how to speak. I will get my hands on writing & reading also but that’s not my goal. Upon learning I will be the first & only multilingual my bloodline has ever seen. Cheers!!
